Fashion Weekend returned to Middleton Hall earlier this month in a celebration of all things Spring and Summer including bright colours, florals, and statement accessories. Here’s a rundown of some of our favourite womenswear looks from the catwalk.
First up, we really loved Jigsaw’s collection of bold statement outfits. They featured dresses, jumpsuits and trouser suits from neon pink to bright green. The standout piece for us from this collection though was definitely the Sequin Ruched Midi-Dress (£250), in a gorgeous shade of purple. Metallics are going to be huge this spring and this dress is the perfect way to inject some sparkles and shine into your wardrobe!
The White Company inspired us with flowy, laidback linen, perfect for the much-awaited warmer months ahead. We love the Linen Brompton Trousers (£98) in the shade -fawn. The straight cut and neutral tone make them incredibly versatile! Paired with a white linen top on our catwalk, these trousers will go with anything and could be dressed up or down with the right accessories.
Accessorize had us dreaming of summer with their colourful beachwear complete with hats, shades, shoes, and bags. These Long Sleeve Beach Shirts (£35) are a must-have for that midday walk to the beach. In a range of bright colours and made from a blend of linen and sustainable fabrics, these coverups are a holiday essential whether you’re off to the Great British seaside or a tropical paradise.
With wedding season on the horizon, Hobbs showcased their elegant occasion-wear for Spring and Summer. It was hard to choose a favourite with so many beautiful patterns, colours, and fabrics, but we couldn’t take our eyes off the Rosella Embroidered Floral Dress (£199). The navy provides the perfect backdrop to the intricately embroidered pink flowers in a midi length that screams sophistication. We know this dress will invite no end of compliments at your next event.
Hand in hand with florals this season comes bright colour blocking. Fuschia’s reign continues, but is joined on centre stage by cobalt blue and mint green this spring/summer. M&S are leading the way with pops of colour throughout ‘The Edit’ like this two-piece Linen Blend Tailored Single Breasted Blazer (£59) and High Waisted Shorts (£25). We’re big fans of embracing this trend and banishing neutrals to the back of the wardrobe for once. We’re sure they will make a return but for now, we’re going bold and loving every second of it.
Our last pick is from River Island and their collection of boho-inspired casuals. We love this Cream Patchwork Floral Embroidered Blouse (£45) paired with the Cream Wide Leg Cargo Trouser (£39). The red on white feels fresh and summery and the wide leg of the trousers keeps it flowy yet sophisticated. This look would be great for a garden party or summer evening drinks.
We hope you enjoyed Fashion Weekend SS23 as much as we did! Keep an eye on our socials and our blogs for more inspiration from Fashion Weekend, and top tips on the upcoming trends for Spring and Summer.
